FAA Requires Color Vision Computerized Tests For ALL NEW Pilots Effective January 1, 2025
The ONLY three FAA-approved color vision tests are:
- City Occupational Colour Assessment & Diagnosis (CAD; AVOT-PRO-US)
- Rabin Cone Test (RCCT)Air Force/Army/Navy/Coast Guard Version
- Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test
EXISTING pilots are grandfathered in and will not be required to test for color vision again.
My office has the Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test on site. There will be an additional charge of $50 for the color vision test when booked with an exam.
If a pilot has taken one of the three approved color vision tests elsewhere and can bring in proof of completion, my office can upload that to the FAA, and they will not have to take the test in the office.
The color vision exam is a one-time exam, once passed a pilot will not have to take it again.
